Q. How do I locate vital statistics for Houston or census tracts?

Need infant mortality, crude death, crude birth rates, maternal mortality rates and leading causes of death for select census tracts or the city of Houston, Thank you.

Answer

You'll need to go to the state to get that level of data:

http://wwwprod.dshs.state.tx.us/chs/datalist.shtm

St. Luke's Episcopal Health Charities has a nice interactive mapping site but it may be too general for you:

http://www.slehc.org/Community_Based_Research/Research/Interactive_Mapping.cfm

Otherwise, data is at the county level:

https://sph.uth.tmc.edu/charting/mortality.htm

https://sph.uth.tmc.edu/charting/births.htm

I hope you find this useful.
